Need help with the Diagnosys!

SO my truck Idles fine, drives decent up to 1,800 rpm but above that the rpm varies and it has no power, an will not go full throttle. it tops out at 3000rpm with no power. My truck is an 05 with an egr delete, bypass coolant filter, afe stage II intake and a sct tuner. It is not studded. This was happening before and after a week of trying to find the issue I took it to the dealer and they ran a cont. balance and tested other things to find nothing more than a clogged air filter(has been replaced with new since then) which seemed to fix the problem. now it is doing it again and I have no idea what the cause is. I am going to chek my FICM later today. I just want to know what to check. Any suggestions?

Re: Need help with the Diagnosys!

Well the FICM was showing 47.5 volts and the boards looked good. The truck was still acting up after I put it back together for a bit and then it started running great again. Could this be a harness problem, and where should I check for chaffed and broken wires?

THanks,

Eric

Re: Need help with the Diagnosys!

Did you check voltages with KOEO, again while cranking, then again when running?

Could be harness issues. Check anywhere your harness makes contact with anything. Around where it connects to the FICM is a good start. Just follow the harness and check anywhere you think it could rub anything. Also make sure it's plugged in well too.

Check the ground strap on the back side if the ficm could be loose

Re: Need help with the Diagnosys!

6speedSD, I only checked key on engine off. will try checking the other ways and the harness.

2Dstorm, where is that grounding strap supposed to run to and where where does it hook to on the FICM. From what I remember, there wasnt one when I looked at it the other day, in fact both rear bolts were missing. IS there supposed to be another plate there like the one on the front as well? right now it has a bolt with a big washer in one side of it.

Re: Need help with the Diagnosys!

There are no codes, and I don't have an actual boost pressure gauge, just the one on my sct livewire TS
