How to weld Diff. housing

Has any one welded their differential housing? I've already twisted up one and want to weld my new one before I pull again. Just wandering what type of welding rod to use to get the cast to weld to steel?

If you are run an A/C stick welder a 7018 will work just fine.

DI 6 position
warn premium hub locks
4" mbrp straight piped exhaust

AIH delete & CCV Mod
