I have a 8in icon lift. I think my drag link and track arm angles look good but i stil have a little bump steer on the bigger bumps is that normal or what? Here is a pic of the angles i also have over 6* of castor...And new ball joints.
if it happens when one wheel hits before the other, it is normal. if it happens when both hit at the same time, then you may have play in one (or more) of the ball joints of the tracbar or drag link.
Have someone rock the (unlocked) steering back and forth while you look from below at all the components to see if any play has developed.
Is the lower balljoint for the track bar installed up side down? In the install instructions for the 7 and 9 inch kits it dosnt show anything about flipping the joint over. I dont even see how it would work and the angled track bar not hit the engine cradle when the suspension compressed.
I would check for a blown stabilizer and adjust the backlash on the box
I had to do mine when I fist got it .. peoples idea of normal play isn't my idea of normal lol i took 2 turns out of mine at the adjuster
I have a tiny bit of backlash in the box when the truck isnt running but doesnt seem to do it when the truck is running... Both steering stabilizers are good. I think the problem was i had to much castor dialed in on my four like i had 6.7* of castor i changed it to 4.7* and it drives good but i have only drove it around 100miles so far so hopefully thats all it was.
Yes i have a pure performance 4 link and pitman arm, track bar mount, icon springs and shocks and track bar. I got it fixed now it may sound dumb but the reason was to much castor... It handles great now!
