Anyone running retro's hids? any issues with the lights flickering a little when turned on? Mine have this problem trying to figure it out all connections are good. Any issues with them since you installed them and how long have you had them?
Chris
I have been in touch with Todd at retro he has my bulbs and ballasts right now. The first harness i installed last year was ungreased i figured it was sealed wrong! spring came and both harnesses were toast so i had to buy two from Todd they are not warrantied put them in and die grease heavily! Now one of my bulbs stopped firing swapped sides to figure the problem came up with the ballast being bad however the working side has a flicker to it with either bulb. Todd said one ballast is locked up due to power supply issue but he could not find any flickering problem. If there is a power supply issue it's from those low quality harnesses definitly not the install, connections or grounds. I have a feeling when the ballasts are going bad they start the flickering thing and go out shortly after but i dont think Todd see's it that way!

Strange mine have worked flawless for over 2 years now.
Seems like it would have to be a back connection. I did have problems with them right after I installed them but it was a bad connection. I think it was a ground issue? Cant remember now. Best I remember I cleaned ground spot some or something. Worked perfect ever since.
I gotcha. I'm not bagging on them. I just don't know what it could be. All the connections are tight, hell I even put a zip tie around some of them to make sure they didn't vibrate loose or anything. I'll check and see if I can clean off the ground and see if that helps out.
I have been eperiencing the same problems with one or the other shutting off when first fired up. If we ever get some good weather, I'm gonna go through all the wiring to confirm it's not a install problem. Kinda suspect grounding problem.
I do like the lights when they are working but it seems like every few months something happens! It's a real pain when you lose a light or two in the dark Todd basically cant find any other issues and now wants the harness to check out and really wanted it to begin with he said my big question was what if that shows good like i think it will being it fairly new and die greased up? but after his testing he sent me a paypal for return shipping when he ask for the parts for testing and clealy found some bad WTF!!
Chris
Well i still dont have any resolve to the issues i must just be very unreasonable with my expectations Todd has stated that he can not replicate the problem and still wants the harness for testing and if that dont pan out he will send them to the maker of the kit and of course i would have to wait for this for who knows how long but he did say if i want to throw parts at the problem at my cost go for it but that will then terminate the warranty then he stated quoting there policies for shipping which are in a gray area along with the rest of the one sided guidlines (there side)! Maybe its me but i am feeling like he is doing his best to get out of doing any warranty work for someone that sells the so called best kits with the best warranty the right thing would be replace the kit if you tested it and could not find the issue not send it to China or where ever it came from. Many guys on here and other sites say the kits are the same as the cheap ebay kits dont waste the extra $$$ i am really starting to believe this to be true. I feel sorry for anyone in the future with issues because you will feel my pain! Sorry for the rant but it's really irratating!
