I am running both. I started with a 4.5Icon coilspring lift. Then I added Carli Coilover Buckets and Carli spec King Coilovers in the front. Then I put on the Icon 4-link. The rear was just a block and Icon Shocks till today. I just finished cutting the factory leaf spring hangers for the front of the rear leafs, moved them foward 8" then bolted them back up and put factory 08 springs in there. After I see how they ride I am going to get a set of Carli 08 mini spring pack. I like it so far.
I do not know how to put pics up. It is nice offroad. Front flexes real well. Rear was always harsh being it was still stock. Not bad when I had some weight in the back. Send me your # and I will text you some pics if you like.
Here is a crappy phone video of an area around Mammoth Lakes. Cant tell but it is a steep hill with about 2' ruts really flexing the suspension. I never did make it up but the ride was nice. With all the flexing, driver front wheel was tucked all the way in the wheelwell and the passanger front had almost
2' of clearance.
I am running an Icon 8" lift and I love it so far. Product is very professional and the ride quality is next to none. I would recommend Icon to anyone.
Went down to Carli today. They are done with there move so I was able to talk to Sage. I wanted some of his 6leaf mini pack for the rear of my 08 springs. Spent over an hour down there bs'ing with him. He did tell me that I would not see the full potential of the rear leafs because of my Firestone Airbags. He told me that I need to set the bags up alittle differently to get a better ride. I would rather put a set of his longtravel bags on but they are only rated for 2000# compared to the 5000# I already have on the truck. The guy is full of info and knows his ####. Cant wait to get the springs on and test them out.
Any updates? Any new 4.5" lift systems installed? I am in the same boat as for what lift to buy but 99% of my driving is on the street. I am looking for the BEST street riding system. Looking into the Carli 2.0 or 2.5 and the Icon Stage 2 or 3. With all the possible combinations/extras (4-link upgrade vs OUO ALAs, full deavers vs. OUO trac blocks, etc.) it looks like I will be spending roughly $5k no matter what way I swing it. I know either 4.5" set up will be night and day over stock, just want to make sure I am getting the best for my $$$. I have talked to numerous distibutors and they have been little help as to picking one. I know this topic/question has been beaten to death, just looking for a deciding factor. Any help
Again, I have a combination of both. Carli is diving in head first on the Superduties. I went down there this morning to see about getting some King's for the rear(King will not sell a set of Carli spec to me and they are only 1/2mile from me). Not only did Sage order them up for me but when they come in he wants me to bring my truck back to the shop so he can install the rears for me and take my front coilovers off so he can revalve them to his new specs to better balance the front/rear. I told him I could install them myself but he insisted I let him revalve because it would be so much better. With him having a Superduty now, he is able to fine tune them. Carli is putting some of his own custom internals in King Shocks. I am sure you would be happy with Icon but you will love the Carli setup.
Sage will be out of the office until Monday and even then he may be hard to get a hold of. Shaun is another good guy to talk to there but with Sage out he will be stretched pretty thin. They are a small passionate company and will more than likely refer you to one of their knowledgable dealers.
He can be hard to get ahold of on the phone sometimes. That is why I just drive down there. Leave him a message and he will get back to you. Tell him Mike Walker sent you.
I've been talking with a few distributors, just want to make sure when I order the Carli kit I get the newest and best valving. Thanks for the heads up!
Decided to go with Icon's 4.5" Stage 3 with One Up Offroad's Adjustable Link Arms and Traction Blocks. Probably won't have it for a few weeks but I will post reviews and pics when it's done!
