Where did you wire up your "button"? I was thinking about just wiring mine straight into the factory horn. Then I got to thinking that anyone I know is just gonna come up and hit the horn and set them off. Maybe I'll keep them guessing and wire them into my lock/unlock button? I dont EVER use that button anyway. So I'm just curious where you guys wire yours?
I installed mine and mounted a manual valve above my driver side door by the a pillar. Ran a pull chain from a wallet chain through the headliner and reattached it farther back. Works just like a big rig and really gets people talking since my horns are mounted under the cab right behind the front wheel well on both sides so you cant see them.
My original thought was to do this too but talked myself out of it. The nos button flip switch idea is a little too ricer for my blood but funny. "Hey whats the nuclear launch button for?" lol
Snake... you wired them into your factory horn and put a toggle on your dash to change between the 2? Thats an interesting idea. Never thought about that. May have to give that one some more tossing on my side.
Def. do the toggle to switch it between factory horn and train horns, never fails when I have the dogs in the truck and I get out they nail the fricken horn, Ive even seen a three way switch with train horn, factory horn, and off so when horn is hit nothing happens. (I need to do the three ways so dogs cant hit the horn)
not trying to steal your thread this may be a stupid question, but what is that button wired up to so when you press it it lets the air flow out of the tank to the horn? im doin a home made system and thats where im stuck at.
i got mine on a lil LED light button that came from a LED light strip from autozone and got it mounted up under my steering wheel in a open hole quick easy n outta sight unless ur under 6' then u can see it
Put in the tank gauge and "on" switch for the compressor today. Its not wired up yet. Figured this was the best spot since Im already running a quad pillar thats full. YES I know my cup holder doesn't match, its temporary. Still haven't decided if I want to put the button for the horns in the steering wheel or the unlock button. If I do the steering wheel I will probably do the switch thing.
damn I need to get a double din put in that old beast!
thanks for the help! that sounds simple enough, also though what should i use to tell the pump to cut off when the tank is full up to like 150 psi? like a pressure switch or what? what did yall use?
HOLY GAUGES!!! You running a pressure gauge for each tire?!!
