Hello, I was looking for advice on a QUIET free-flowing 4" exhaust combo. Currently I have a 4" MBRP exhaust with MBRP muffler on my '95. I know that this is the Superduty forum but I'm hoping there is more experience here than in the first gen PSD forums.
I am looking for less drone, and less noise in general; both less turbo noise and less engine noise. I'm very tired of having an obnoxiously loud truck. As my truck is only a '95, I also have a 3" downpipe which helps my turbo noise somewhat.
So, what I'm wondering is has anyone found a good quiet combo? Maybe like a FTE resonator with some kind of muffler in addition? I have a buddy with a 12 valve with a 4" Silverline and that exhaust is relatively quiet with just the muffler. Maybe a silverline muffler or a 51" Donaldson combined with the FTE resonator is the ticket?
I only have a chip, but I'm obviously not going to re-install a stock OBS exhaust on the truck. I'm just looking for a stealth exhaust set-up. I have done some searches looking for quiet exhaust combinations and looked on youtube for videos but haven't been able to find anything really definitive, especially for the 7.3L.
Any input is appreciated, thank you.
