I have blown up few ss turbos as well as a few ssx turbos. I was never impressed with any of them. I would stick with a powermax or just bite the bullet and go twins.
talk to garrett at elite about the ssx. he told me it flows more than the ss but spools better than the ho. i sprayed my HO quit a bit too. not alot of nitrous just one small stage.
from the little bit of driving ive done it seems to flow really well. definitely more laggy than the stock charger but as to be expected. the sound is pretty nasty too. im definitely happy with it and havent come close to feeling it all the way out yet.
I do have to say my powermax screamed louder then the VGT-SS I had before but thats me also turbo noise is alot different thru a stack vs a side exhaust as well.
doesn't the powermax have 9 vanes right out of the box? i know elite puts a 10 vane wheel in their ssx so in theory, the unmodded p-max should still be just as loud
Eric and KEM are live tuning at Rudy's, JJ its gonna need to be tuned wouldnt advise running an insanity tune long
