Guys - went to get my ECU code to buy a chip and tried to take it out with the key in the ignition. now it wont turn over and wait to start light will not come on....did I fry it?
Got it going!!! just a fuse. now I need to find out how to get it out.
Yeah I unscrewed a 10mm bolt closest to the fender. I assume it was the right one. There was 2 smaller square plugs with bolts to the left of it.
did you disconnect the wiring harness on the other side of the firewall? It maybe a little hard to pull something out while its still attached to a bunch of wires.
First off make sure the key is out of the ignition. Loosen the 10mm bolt on the connector. Should be down below the brake master cylinder. Once you have that disconnected you should remove I believe 2 7mm screws holding the PCM under the dash. Then you can slide it out of the case to get the numbers you need.
Took the 2 7mm out but it is hitting something when i try to pull it out. It stops and I can hear it hitting something. Unless there another plug under there that im not seeing.
The manual-transmission trucks are a bear to get the PCM out of because you simply cannot get the PCM to go to the right anymore due to the clutch pedal.
For a little trick.....
Find the 10mm bolts that hold the metal bracket itself on.
The top 10mm is a bugger to get at but i see what has to be done. THanks for the help the small diesel shop here has never pulled one out of a manual, they were useless as usual.
Thx again
