6.0 oil leak

I have a small oil leak <occasional drip> on my '05 6.0. Seems to be coming from top rear of engine. Leaking off oil pan, front of bell housing, and starter. Appears to be more prevalent twd passenger side of engine. Any ideas?

Thanks

Re: 6.0 oil leak

This might sound stupid, but are you sure it is oil and not coolant, soak it up in a paper towel and check the color of it, most likely it is coolant, in this case it would be your connector between oil cooler and EGR cooler, let us know, if it is indeed oil im not sure where it could be coming from.

Re: 6.0 oil leak

mine leaks in the same spot. Just barely damp underneath with a droplet or 2.... coming off of starter. Might leave a spot the size of a quarter after a few days of sitting? I cleaned mine up really well and then re-diagnosed and mine is the glow plugs leaking. Evidently the glow plugs run thru an oil passage or something? I haven't fixed yet but that's what it looks like and I discussed it with someone on here a few months ago and that's what I found if its any help....

Re: 6.0 oil leak

Thanks guys. It is not leaving a puddle. If I wipe it off once a week, you hardly know it's leaking.

Re: 6.0 oil leak

Check your hot side intercooler boot off the turbo. I have seen many of them seep just enough to leave a drip or two every now and then
