can you get a smaller(f350 diameter) rotor to fit the lager unit bearing/bolt circle?
if not, you'll be needing the bigger knuckle and caliper....just thinking out loud. correct me if im wrong
No you miss understanding me or I am not saying it correctly LOL.
What I mean is the Knuckle itself is not what effects the use of a 10 lug wheel. Its the Unit bearing and hubs. The knuckle is bigger to handle the extra wieght the larger truck are expected to see but the botl pattern on the knuckle that the unit bearing bolts to. The 4 bolt pattern is exactly 100% the same as the small.er F 350 knuckle. You can bolt a F 350 same year unit bearing right up to it and vise versa. Not saying the brakes ect woudl work out just that the knuckle is not part of what allows for a 10 lug wheel to bolt up.
I would like to swap over to the 10bolt 19.5 wheels ... but i HATE adapters. Would rather do it the right way.... i figured it was axles and new rotors and carrier. But i guess it isnt that simple.
would be pretty nice to fully swap axles and pick up the tighter turning radius on the F450/500 Super 60 front axle and bigger brakes, but the trade off comes with the gear ratio's which I think are limited to the 4.30:1 range *I THINK*
the D110(and the D80 in the earlier 450/550s) are not a direct swap, the perches are in diff locations due to the narrower frame on the cab&chasis setup
I like the look of the 10 lug bolt pattern on the semi wheels , but i think 22.5/24.5 ect are just to big and overwhelming for my taste. But i think the 19.5s look great on the 450/550 .... they make a semi alcoa in 19.5 with the 10 bolt pattern , so i guess to go this route i would have to use adapters .... only problem with that is , you have to balance the assembly all together with the adapters and places that can do this are hard to find.
