I am wondering how much studs ran you, whether you did it yourself or had them done? Is there anyone that just had the headbolts removed then the studs thrown in without replacing gaskests? I would love to get them done but costs a pretty penny. Is there anything wrong with just having the studs thrown in without replacing gaskets? I know heads could need to be checked out and resurfaced to be on the safe side. I only have 91,000 km on my 2006 F250, how would I determine if I needed new head gaskets? I am fairly new to diesel engines so excuse my newbiness.
If your going to do it and not hire anyone to do it i would do the one at a time headstud thing because if they dont hold its gona cost you the gaskets and michening of the heads later.
Heck, that truck only has 54,000 miles on it. I would just delete the eger cooler, flush out the coolant and replace it with the elc coolant where ever you get that from, install a coolant filter and call it a day.
I've seen head gaskets puke at 42,000 miles. Mileage doesn't mean as much as you would think. Depends on how it's ran, maintenance, and who assembled it at the factory....and of course the owners luck.
Do the studs now and be done with it. I always pull the heads and have them gone through and all new gaskets, seals, etc.
Some have had success with doing them one at a time with the heads on, it's up to you.

I'm in the process of shopping around for the delete, I think I'm leaning towards the sinister kit. I like the look of that one and from what i've read and seen the manifold can in place but loosened.
You might take a few minutes to fill out your signature with details from your truck. It will help everyone get down to the nitty gritty without having to ask a bunch of questions about your setup.
I see you have an 06'. There is actually somewhat of a chance that you got a set of heads that were (sorta) flat from the factory. Do you know the service history?
My point is, unless you have blown gaskets already, I'd leave the bolts in there untill when/if they do go. Unless, of course, you just want to get ahead of the game and get the studs in on YOUR timeframe instead of your TRUCKS timeframe....
Oh and FWIW the kit Strictly sells is made by RCD.
I have a SCT w/Innovative Tunes, just bought a EGR delete not in the truck yet.
I know the delete will help with the gaskets going south; it is piece of mind thing and I am definitely going to do the studs anyway. The guys I was talking to recommended doing the studs without pulling the heads only if they are healthy by doing a pressure test, which would cut down on the costs as well. I'm not looking to go on the cheap however if the gaskets are good then I'll leave them in.
do a pressure test for the gaskets and first coast diesel performance makes a good egr delete kit we just put it on my roomates truck.
