There are a lot of companies and styles that make traction aids for the Dana 60. all the prices i got from either my jobber price sheet or from my catalog browser and they are retail. you will find them cheaper by looking around a little. i am personally running true-tracs front and rear.
the grizzly lockers will be available in the second quarter of this year, looks like retail is set at $544. they are the same as a detroit. detroits retail at $594
there is the spartan locker that drop into the stock carrier, it comes with a new cross pin. they run $317. the same lockright goes for $326
they make a beartrac limited slip that is a knock-off of the ture-trac. there isnt a release date or price on those yet.
a true-trac retails at $660
a powr-lok posi is a clutch style limited slip, it is like the factory units that come in the rear axles. those retail at $509
eaton limited slips retail at $557
then you have the zip locker, its the same as the ARB. they are backordered right now and not showing a price, but they are about $100 less than an ARB
it can be tough on hard surfaces. it has the same manners as the grizzly or detroit, but it isnt as strong because of the stock case. if you are worried about steering i would go true trac or Zip/ARB
I've got the ARB in front and stock in rear, PO had it installed in sig truck. Only used it couple of times in the snow and Mud. Works awesome, steers a little stiffer, just noticeable. I can see where guys would be put off with the ARB cause of the compressor and air tank and overall cost. As mine came equipped it's all good, plus the compressor and air tank are good for tools and airing tires and such.
you can run a CO2 tank with an ARB to get away from the compressor. A 10lb tank lasts a long time.
A traclok is a clutch limited slip. it will still be a little tough to steer, but not as bad as a locker under load. on hard surfaces a locker will unlock if it doesnt have any power applied to it. when that happens you cant tell they are there, buts rear that you are turning and not on the throttle a little.
I run a Lockright in the front... its was about $350 I think, and a piece of cake to install.
I like my truck to work offroad, and not get stuck in peoples driveways - does that perfectly. However this truck spends at least 90% of its time on paved road.
