I would say from the scan that you need to check your UVCH, both banks are showing codes.
Check the EBP tube and sensor, make sure the tube is clean and clear with no rust holes.
Pull the sensor plug on your ICP and see if it has oil in it... if so I think you need a sensor, if not, I think you have an electrical problem in your harness.
i just replaced the the whole uvch from where it comes out from the harness out all the way to the glow plugs and injectors on the drivers side. brand new stancor relay was put in it about 2 days before that. glow plugs were put in there about a year ago (motorcraft).
You're buzz test showed both banks failing on at least one injector. Replace both sides and then clear all codes and drive it for at least 30 miles and go back and pull the DTC's and re-run the buzz test. You could clear and rescan after replacing just the one UVCH, but I tend to always replace both halves of anything that has an equal side if one side fails, especially if they have equal mileage.. UVCH's, Front Wheel Bearings, headlight bulbs etc... just my preference.
Whatever DTC's show up after the 30 miles are the ones to figure out. My bet is the buzz test reveals no codes after the other harness is replaced and you see P0478 and possibly P1212.
P1212 Like Fro_911 said, check the ICP harness plug end for oil, it could be a failing sensor. It could also be your HPOP going out or it could be a sticky IPR that is not opening enough during start or run. If you had your pump r&r'd you might see this after restarting. Or if you ran so low on oil your reservoir emptied... If you keep seeing this and you have checked the ICP harness plug end for oily residue then you might check the level of oil in the HPOP reservoir prior to first starting in the morning. If your HPOP reservoir is draining then you could see this when the ICP sensor sees less than 500 psi at cranking.
P1211 is usually found on chipped trucks or could also mean your HPOP is failing. Normally on chipped or tuned trucks with stock HPOP's you will see this after a WOT or two. No usual worries.
P0478 - Fro_911 is right.. clean your EBP tube first. This and the P0470 are related.. So clean the tube first.
Next time you might want to record the initial DTC's if any and then clear all DTC's and re drive to see what comes back. You do this for a number of reasons, but mainly because many DTC's result from the same issue, so clearing them once you've recorded the initial values will usually yield the real culprits / DTC's when you rescan after that re-drive.
Also, in AE you can choose to "print" the results to a file instead of capturing screen shots in a word doc.
Thanks for all the info so far. We just started out semester today so things are gonna be a little busy for this week. Anyways I drove this truck 800 miles from CO down here to AZ to go to school and it made it all the way here. About 50-60 miles out side of town the truck sounded like it started having atleast one or two miss fires or injectors go out, never heard either one thats why im guessing. I pulled my speed down to 60 and it ran better that way just ran that speed the rest of the way, luckily phoenix is quiet at 1am. Anyways made it to the school and pulled in next to our shop and just went and crashed for the night. Went over yesterday at about noon and fired up and it started. I only moved it probably 400ft and it died. Started it again and ran for a little and then died again. Tried it for a third time and it started and died and i noticed what i could see was white smoke with some blue in it. Ended up just towing the truck back into our heavy equipment area and plugged it in. This was the puddle that was sitting under the truck after i moved it. It looked only to me like fuel and a little oil.
ok. it has been leaking oil for a little while but not that much. I was thinking it could be o rings on the oil cooler but havent got the chance yet to figure it out. Where could the fuel be comming from though?
That slow oil leak is probably on top of the engine along with the fuel leak, if you have one. Oil could be several different things, ICP sensor, IPR, HPOP lines, HPOP..... Those are leaks that if big enough will cause what you're seeing.
If you have a fuel leak, you may find it at the fuel bowl drain valve.
Your best bet is to thoroughly clean everything in the engine valley and watch for leaks while cranking. It could be the oil cooler, but that would be leaking around the lower drivers side of the engine.
Thats the first thing that popped in my head when i saw the fuel but i replaced the o-rings in the drain valve about a year ago i think. Il try to get it cleaned up tonight or tomarro night but have weird class times. I guess my real question right now is. What should i go after first? This truck truck is got problems, haha, but i have a full shop and all the tools i could ever need. Plus im hear till the middle part of march so i have plenty of time and may as well do everything right the first time.
Well i have been busy the past couple days and not been able to do much but got a little free time tonight. I plugged the truck in for the past couple days to see if that would make any difference and tried starting it. It would crank and crank and crank but not start. I checked both of the the uvch harnesses and all the pins looked good, everything looked basically brand new. When i was in there i also noticed a little bit of fuel and what looked like coolant in the valley. The only thing i can think of is bad head gasket. Any Ideas?
havent got a chance to look yet. have had classes and homework. try tonight though. where the "puddle" of it is sitting back in the valley almost after the y pipe
