So it looks like money is going to be to tight to do the 6 speed trans swap I was planning with taxes. I am/was looking at buying a banks exhaust side turbo housing. PN-BAN-24450...I have a friend who installed this on his 97 with a 5 speed and he really likes it. His truck though has a snow performance water/methanol injection and bully dog tuner so I know I wont get near the perfomance out of my truck. Any good bad info or better turbo choices I could go with for the money? My trunk needs some help when I throw my dump trailer or horse trailer on it. Also I dont need to tear the Auto out of it so I am trying to keep that in mind also. Thanks for the info in advance
There is also the Comp TP-38 and the Borg-Warner TP-38 which are both quick spool drop in turbos and usually in the $600 range. I have the BW and love it.
If the comp turbo's are 600 ish and the banks is 500 ish. why are the ones from beans so much cheaper? I am not looking to swap injectors etc...just want to get a better turbo housing for now.
:whs: ya the banks is 300 more than the beans because it has the super hp gaining banks stamp on it. and i comes with 2 100hp stickers also.
and yes like the previous people said the BW tp38, COMP tp38, and the Beans d66 are all full drop in turbos. not just the exhaust housing. if you are going to go with the full turbo go with beans he has had the best results that ive seen with all of his d66 with very minimal problems
