no wait to start light

I parked my truck a week ago and went to crank it and wont start. The wait to start light wont come unless you put a jumper wire across the relay. Ive unpluged the heater have no blown fuses any thingelse I should check?

Re: no wait to start light

Search the forumn for info to repair your GP system. There is plenty info available. Start with the GP relay and GP's. Then check your UVCH and engine harness. Good luck

If you are correct on the heater & no blown fuses .Do you have a chip that may have come loose ? If not , no WTS points to a bad PCM You may need to check the small relays in the distribution box , you can use the horn to test them all ...

Re: no wait to start light

Are you SURE Fuse #22 under the hood is good? Do you have power on the red/light green wire that goes to the glow plug relay? That should be powered when the key is on.

Re: no wait to start light

Thanks guys for the help. I think Ill change the pcm and see if that works. To the above post yes im getting power to the glow plug relay. I can put a jumper wire from the small post to the big post towards the front and the truck will start and run as long as I hold the wires on.

Re: no wait to start light

WAIT!!! If your truck is running with your jumper, the PCM is fine.

This sounds exactly like Fuse #22 is bad and your PCM is fine. By jumping from the small to the big post, you are powering the PCM--effectively replacing Fuse #22 with a jumper.

So, one more time. With the key on, put a meter or a 12volt light on the red/light green wire on the GPR (and the other terminal of the meter or light to the battery ground). I don't mean power to the BIG wires on the GPR, I specifically mean power on the little red/light green.

Do you have power there, yes or no? Without your jumper.

Let me explain the circuit here. Fuse #22 provides power with the key on to several circuits. It supplies the fuel heater; it powers the PCM, and it provides power to one side of the solenoid on the GPR. All of these wires are red/light green and they all connect eventually at Fuse #22.
