I sat down the other evening to begin a small list of goals for my 01 PSD... No#1 on the list = BTS transmission.
No#2 on the list = Better Traction for Rear & Front.
Now everyone who has a so called Ford Limited Slip rear end knows its a joke!
I'm not looking @ an air-locker or nothing like that... I'm looking at a plug and play--Install it and It just Works, when U need it.
I never take my PSD off-road and abuse it... It sees alot of rainy highway-sandy roads- towing our 34ft 5th wheel... Now the weather is really crazy and we are starting to see more snow and ice during the winter months... I spent many nights last winter trying to pull stranded cars and trucks out of snow drifts... Many I had no problems with... Some I was a 2 tire spin wonder one in back and one in front... Makes a fella kinda upset... So I'm looking for performance differential that will give me both tires grapping when I call for it in the rear and at least some help from upfront.
I know I will get quite a few different opinions, but I will gather the info I receive and make my choice...
My first and only choice so far for the rearend is-------->
Eaton Detroit Truetrac
a.Limited Slip
b.Maintenance Free
c.Lifetime torque bias retention
d.Smooth & Quiet Operation
e.Performs Open Until Needed
f.Simple Proven Design
g.Strong & Durable
My first choice for frontend is---------->
No idea... Would the Truetrac work perfect for upfront as well?
It just seems the past 4 winters I've had to call on my 4wd more and more... I just want to upgrade it, to where when I need it... I have it... mainly to help others in need... As well as help with pulling our 5th wheel...
Any input or personal experience would be helpfull.
Thanks SyN
