Driver side is the side that makes the noise. If its out, how long do I have? IIRC, it could have been like that earlier this year when I last had it in the air. So far theres no paly in it.
Replaced my driver side 2 weeks ago. Made a similar noise. When you are driving is it just a slight metal on metal sound not yet a grinding? But anyways I replaced it because it was under warrantly (6 months old) and its fixed. I also had no play in the tire when I tried moving it. As far as time goes I'd go ahead and fix it soon as I could a unit bearing isn't something I am going to roll the dice on.
I dont hear any grinding so far. And the rotor I took off yesterday had some wear on the inside for some reason. But I dont know if that is related or not.
What makes it worse is the Early 99 With RABS 4x4 SRW Hub is the most expensive hub from ford. $550
Im told the internal bearings "can" be replaced but I havent found the bearings for it yet.
