Replacing all of the steering on the truck and was introduced to the DOM tubing kits several companies offer. They use a bigger tie rod and require the reaming of the knuckles but a couple of the companies offer heim joints instead of tie rods.
The kits that use tie rods use an off the shelf tie rod which would allow easy replacement should one go bad in a bind. 10k miles a year is nothing. Heims will allow more misalignment but typically dont offer as much longevity as a tie rod end aswell as being more expensive to replace. Dont by any heim kit that doesnt use QA1 or similar quality heim. If they dont say or wont tell you, dont buy it cause they are cheap quality heims that will just wear out quickly. I work with both heims and tie rods and build similar kits all the time. I more than happy to help in any way I can.
