I put a new truck bed on my truck and noticed the exhaust pipe and fuel tank has grease on it and it looks like it is coming from the place that the drive shaft is coming into the rear diff. I wonder if someone can look at the pic and tell me how to fix it. I see some on the bottom of the bed and it has only been on about 2 days.
it could be the pinion seal but I am thinking that it might be the u-joint. check to see if it is loose or even tight. It might not be that but check it as well cause that on tank and exhaust pipe looks like grease and not oil.

It smells like gear oil and everything feels tight. I dont feel alot of play in the joint. I checked the level and it is about one and a half inch from the hole
