Well put 2" shackles on the front last Sunday..figured I would get some pics up since I really don't have hardly any up on here. Edit, Also had the rear windows layer'd up so she is blacked out now.
I had time to wash the old girl up before work today:
I can noticeably tell a difference hoping in and out of the truck. I'm very happy with it, it took away that bad rack look the 99-04's have from the factory with the nose much lower than the rear
Next spring I hope, done spent all my $$$ on motor mods, front end swap, rear end swap, and interior....shhoot you name it...I'm broke right now:blah::blah::hehe:
Might go with 20X10 black aftermarket wheel or stock 08-10 wheels and spacers so they stick out a little with a bigger tire...
Damn i hate you lol ur truck is exactly how i want mine to look except mines a short bed dually all i need is a bumper and i can finish the 05 front end and i can't decide if i want roll pan or 08 rear bumper
Thanks guys, I'm happy with how everything turned out. I like the look of no nerf bars but some friends are having trouble getting in and out of the truck already. I just took a 300 mile round trip this weekend with the shackles on and it almost seems to ride better, kinda weird
Here are some pics of the ones that I put on my truck, it is kind of a PITA but well worth the end result. Make sure you have 2 jack stands, decent sized hammer, a smaller mini (factory style jack) and a bigger floor jack. The smaller Jack helps push the leafs away from the frame once the shackle are into place. The tough part is getting the leafs to line up just right when putting the new shackles on. When the old shackles came off it released pressure of the leaf springs and they move a little. Lots of meneauvering was involved. If you have power tools it shouldn't take you long at all, on mine we had hand tools only.
Two questions, where and how much did you spend on the HD grille, and what percent tint is on the front and rear windows? I need both for my truck, yours looks great by the way!
Thanks for the comments guys its come a long ways in almost a year! Future mods include, wheels/tires, smoked cab lights, possibly 08 blinker mirrors, double din HU, and sound system. Not too mad for a old 7.3L, I definitely need to pull the grill back off and get that header panel painted black.
I actually picked it up off ebay somewhere, I wanted one that no one else had or atleast I've never seen another SD with the same grill. I'm sure they are out there but I've never seen it. The windows are 5% limo up front on both doors and 4" eye brow on windshield. The rears are factory 35% tint layered with 20% tint (which I assume is about 15% or so). I'm happy with the way it turned out, local smokey bears don't mess with me (knock on wood) and the windows are so dark you can put your face 6" from glass and not be able to see in:evil
I always been a believer that you have the right to tint your windows as dark as you want b/c you should have the privacy of doing whatever the hell you want inside your truck. Plus it protects any valuables, pro-longs the interior of your truck from the sun, easier to heat and cool interior, and it looks damn good
