Made 5 runs at SW last night. First pass off the trailer was the best run the truck has ever made. Second pass was the best 60' time ever but that run slowed on the top end for some reason. The rest were mixed results as I was trying a few different things.
Nice runs dennis!! when you launched it looked like the front end bounced just a bit. Would it help any if that didnt happen? Just wondering. Looks great!
Thanks. These passes were made WITHOUT the DieselSite OverDrive I was running previously as it's back to DS for update. Just my trusty old 17° pump and the same old 160cc single shots. ICP held about 2900 for the runs above. Just goes to show that setup is quite possibly more important than power.
Front shocks are as tight on compression as they go. Not sure it's bounce as much as launch, tire spin (which would let the front down a tad) and then hook and accelerate (which would bring the front back up again). I was watching the videos on our big screen and at 1/8 speed I can see some tire spin shortly after launch.
Thanks Danny. I'm really happy with how the wrap came out. As for the record, I have not heard of a faster PMR truck and I have been told by someone else that I have the record...but I can't say for sure.

Truck is out of fuel, every significant gain it makes is in the first part of the track, most of them in the first 60'. It's been a good for learning how to set things up.
Nice job Dennis. Lack of oil and subsequently quick building ICP might be a good thing for keeping PMR engines together as well.... but that's just me talking.
And by dicking around, he might have meant the fact that it doesn't have a mech engine in it yet. Bout time someone went mechanical on the drag strip with one of these 7.3's.
The truck did have the OD in it for a while, which worked quite well. I was disappointed to have to send it back and run the truck without it. That thing built ICP very quick and held about 300-400psi more (right where we programmed it)...makes me wonder what the truck might have run with it and the work we did to get it to leave. 12.5x maybe???
Some sick part of me is thinking that putting PMRs in the 11s would be interesting...just not sure I've got the patience to keep needling away at it for that long or the desire to blow the engine trying.

Go for it dennis there is only a couple things that could happen. LOLLOL boom
We're going to Pomona for the NHRA finals this weekend so it will be a scramble to get the truck ready for the 19th...but I'm hoping to have an oil leak resolved and a few minor rear suspension tweaks made by then.
Pulled the turbo and pedestal, replaced all the o-rings and resealed the plug in the top of the bearing cartridge...hopefully my oil leak is resolved.
I've never messed with the ladder bar adjustment in the truck, but from what I've been reading I probably should. Between the weight and the automatic trans, I've probably got them set too soft. I think we're going to see what happens if I set them up to hit the tires harder (which might start me down the road of messing with all of the shock adjustments again).
