I have some family that just got a go cart and they are looking for some ways to make it faster/more powerful it is a 150 cc motor and how it sits will get moving pretty good with me in it but get into a hill and it bogs down so any help wold be great thanks. and hear is a link
if it uses a clutch like on a snow mobile, primary and secondary, talk to a local sled speed shop. tell them you wanna play with the clutches, they will help you out. they might not have the parts, but should be able to tell you what you wanna do and a place to start looking for them. then there are standard mods like any other vehicle. how far are you wanting to go with it?
Ok so it will run about 42 flat out with me in it (190 lb) not really wanting to go faster because of the fact kids will be driving it just want to make it go up hills a little better for the most part and thanks for the help
i no, talk to the speed shop, them are created same way as a sled, what applies there applies to you. i can help to, just let me put my thinking cap on for a bit
my local tractor supply has one there, ima go look at it and see what we can to to make it "better". when it goes up the hill does it bog down like it needs to down shift, or do the rpm's stay up it just dont have enough juice to pull you up it, like the clutch is slipping? this will determine what direction we go to start
Sounds like gearing to me too. Two birds with one stone, greater numeric ratio = lower top speed, greater torque.
