I notive when I brake torque, only my right side tire spins... Thought these trucks were posi aka limited slip??? Think mine is worn or is it a peg leg?
Some have a limited slip, some have an open differential. Read the axle tag. The clutches wear out. Try changing the fluid and making sure to add the correct amount of friction modifier.
I just rebuilt mine with new, improved clutch pack, new spiders, cross and side gears. Took longer to refill the fluid than it did to do everything else. Course, I have a Dana 80 under mine.
I think the carrier is a little more difficult to remove on the Ford\Sterling axles than on the Dana's. Not sure though. Check Randy's Ring and Pinion, just Google it. They can let you know everything you ever wanted to and then some.
Look at your axle code on your door sticker. If it's a number it's open if it's a letter and number it's ls.
