i did this on my chevy trail truck.....when it was still a street/trail gunner. It act like a giant steering stabilizer. It took away most of my bump steer and road vibs....
I bought the D60 cover from vendor off pirate 4x4. It was 85 + shipping. Next time i will use a different vendor. This mounting flange was bent like hell. I had to have it faced before install.
There is one vendor there who makes 3/8 to 1/2 covers and has them milled before he ships them out. I think they're around 120 beans.
So if you have a system like this, I assume you dont need a steering stablizer? What would be the advantage of this system? I assume on a truck with a huge lift it would be beneficial?
You don't need a steering stabilizer, the ram does a pretty good job of absorbing some of that energy. As far as needing hydro assist, it pretty much has to do with tire size...
