How do you know if your truck has the new flash update? Mine was built in late august and my dealer can't tell me. Is there a number to call or a way to check the VIN#.
Put the transmission into drive, press the + to activate the gears screen.
Put the transmisision into Park. Shutdown the truck.
Startup, put into drive and the gear display should automatically load to the screen.
Took mine for the update 3 weeks ago. The dealer said they did the reflash. I just did this test and the numbers are not showing. It is the + on the directionals, correct? Or am i a total ass?
That would be one way for sure. (if it's a Job 1 truck) it may not show up if it's a Job 2. Since that is the way it was built. Mine has had it the dealer told me. I told him to make sure before I picked it up. Anyway, on the right side of my Driver Information screen There is a row of numbers 1-6 from the bottom. They indicate which gear the truck is in while driving it. As mentioned above, it seems this was not the way it worked before the flash. I couldn't swear to that as I don't recall what it was like on any of the trucks that I test drove a few months ago. But since others had their trucks on here before the flash, and verified it I would hold it as accurate info of course!
I checked this out last night and the gear display didn't show back up instantly but as soon as I put it in drive the gear display came back on and stayed on. Is this correct for the flash installed or should it show instantly before putting in drive?
Is there any other way of checking that is more concrete?
The gear display on the right was never on the information screen before I got the flash on mine. I got the flash done 3 days after I got the truck since the dealer I got it from was stupid and nobody in the service department knew about it or could find out anything about it, even when I sent them a link via email to the Ford website. So I had the dealer in the town I live in do it and their service department seems more on top of things.
That's interesting. I had been told at one point that 8/12 was the changeover date that they started coming off the assembly line with the update. I know my brother's truck was built 8/10/10 and he just picked it up from the dealer tonight after getting the update today.
My brother's was built 8/10 and did not come from the factory with the flash. I would like to see an OASIS report on your truck. My bet is it was flashed at the dealer prior to delivery. Did you order the truck or take it from dealer inventory?
Brought mine home 9/4 and the Salesman was'nt sure , went back today and guess what ? It wasnt done , so they pulled it around back and plugged her in and I now have 400 hp & 800 Tq . They can punch the Vin in to there computer and it will tell the if the Oasis was installed . It all took about a half hour , also had a chip in the rear left wheel from some GOON in Kentucky , that hasnt mastered the art of installing wheel weights . They went good for a new wheel too. Happy Guy !
Negative on the steering wheel controls. It's the + on the shifter. If you press it once the gear indicator should light up. If you press it a second time it will disappear. One note, do you have the full message center? I'm not sure that the abbreviated message center has the gear indicator.
