Yes just got one in the mail Tuesday. I just throw it away. I went to Ford when I got my first one and I told them just give me the CPS and I will install it my self. “I don’t want no 18 year old kid testing driving my truck to make sure the CPS works”. They couldn’t do that they said. Then they told me they would need my truck over night to do the "repairs". Yea sorry that aint going to happen. I could bring it to another dealer but I really have no reason to. I have a spare one in my glove box along with the tools to replace it.
Yepper, for the 7.3. I just got back from the dealer for mine. They did the recall on the cruise control/brake harness as well. They had it done in 20 minutes, and no one drove my truck anywhere to test it out. No complaints other than they wouldn't give me the old CPS.
Yes for the 7.3. Im taking mine in on monday. I do have i little bit of a rough idle so im gonna let them put the new one in and ask for the old one if its still any good. Im not gonna leave the service bay door until the truck is done. Ill test drive it myself lol.
I got one today. Ford doesnt have enough money to pay me to go to a dealership around here and let them check the air in my tires. Let alone under the hood of my truck
No one takes the truck out for a test drive. Most ford dealerships do so many of the repairs for the CPS and cruise control they dont even take it into the shop. And no they wont give you the old one either.
i get those recall letters every three month on average. all three of my trucks have had the CPS replaced under the recall, but they still send the letters/ i just throw them away.
I'm kinda weary on bringing my truck in. I need the cruise control switch recall done. Did the CPS myself. Really don't want anyone to work on my truck but myself.
I've been getting letters every few months as well.
Well i took the truck in today (I setup an appointment on friday to bring it in around 8 this morning.) I walked into the service dept. and spoke to the same ignorant lady I set the appointment up with. Well i started telling her what I was there for and how I had an appointment and she looked at me with a very lost look and said she had no idea what I was talking about. She than looked up the appointment we setup and asked me if i was dropping it off. How long will it take i asked. 4-5 hours, they didn't tell you it would take that long when you made the appointment? she said. Why that long? I asked. And no YOU didn't tell me it would take that long!! Well sir we need to let the truck cool off, than we hook it up to the computer and see whats wrong with it, she says. I than informed her again that I was there for a recall on a CPS and it wiill only take about 15-20 mins tops and the truck does not need to be anywhere near a computer. Her response was the same dumba$$ look she was giving me the whole time. I than looked around in hope to see someone that might know what i was talking about, well lets just say i walked out. Rant over but Still pisses me off!
Ha! The closest one for me IS 45 minutes! Just had to throw that at yaoke: At any rate, maybe a little note to Ford Customer Service would be in order? You can't be the only one. Always remember this, "Ignorance is curable, stupid is forever". There's a difference.
