so i discovered the loud squeal noise coming from under the hood was my y-pipe leaking my ? is do they make any aftermarket pipe or should i go with factory one. i am new to the site and from all the post i have been reading through you guys really no these 6.0 thanks for any input!
You could get half of it aftermarket if you delete your EGR cooler. They are prone to cracking. I dont know of any aftermarket ones off hand. Im sure there are some. do a search and see what you come up with. If there out there, you can bet someone on here knows how to get them. Good luck with it man.
thanks for the info so i checked it out and and seen the one that says long y pipe is the one i think i would need since my egr is gone maybe i should call Eric to confirm or do you no but what i was really wondering how hard it is to slide it into place? The only thing i got going for me is i already have to take it all apart to install my ITP RR kit.
The long Y would be what you need. To get it in you'll have to pull the turbo. Easiest way. Than you just slide it in, and down, into place. Put the 4 bolts in to the exhaust manifolds loosely, and than reinstall the turbo and connect the Y to the rear flange.
A small tip, if you can get your hands on a "half moon" 10mm wrench, you'll have a lot easier time reaching the top manifold bolt heads. It's tough to get a standard wrench around the Y pipe otherwise.
Than you can tighten the 4 manifold bolts, and than finish with the rear v-band on the turbo.
Not too hard, and it should be the last time you have to deal with it.
Noticed you said you had the RR kit to install as well, you had the right idea to take the Y pipe out, and install the kit. It'll be a lot easier to get to the rear bolts that way.
Hope this helps! Good luck with the installs.
