I am going to be ordering a GQSSB from *** and a T4i mount from Carson. Would it be worth while ceramic coating my exhaust housing and up pipes? Anything else I should coat?
just jet hot ..I am sure *** knows if not di should...there was a user on here platinumsomething th had a nice blue coated h2e at one time he would be a good 1 to ask.
We'd be happy to coat the turbine housing before we shipped it out to you if you're interested. Spool-up isn't an issue with that turbocharger, but there are some benefits to retaining heat inside the turbine.
We've also seen pretty good results with the addition of a turbo blanket over the turbine section. I run one on my GQSSB and it brought EGT's down about 50-degrees at light load cruising speeds.
Turbo blanket is basically just a thick fabric that is fitted to go over the turbine housing. Helps hold the heat in, same theory as ceramic coating. Run about $125...
ceramic coating I feel is worth the xtra money. When I purchased my kit qssb and such from *** I had it all coated including a set of manifolds. They will rust if you don't keep them clean btw.
I might have to find a set and get them coated aswell. I had them off a year ago and didnt get them due to time issues... kindda kicking myself now.
