Novice to these trucks, but fairly mechanically inclined. Doing a brake job and pulled the rotor and outer knuckle to service/check everything while I was in there. Wiggled the shafts and the joint is solid, however both the inner and outer shafts have a LOT of play between them and the housings. That can't be normal.
Truck drove fine, no noises, no leaks before tear down. Tell me I'm not completely screwed.
Ok, good. I did notice I had ZERO play in the shafts when trying to remove the knuckle bolts. I just didn't think the inner shaft going into the axle tube should also be loose.
