Finally fixed the annoying rattle from my hubs. I ordered the Warn service kit #11714. The kit comes with a large outer o ring, New allen bolts, the large spiral retaining ring and the small axle shaft snap ring. I Took the 6 allen bolts out and the outer hub off. I removed the big o ring from the hub and put the new o ring on it and set it off to the side. On to the inner parts. I pushed the inner hub all the way in. I then pushed the spiral lock all the way in. Taking the old big o ring i placed it into the slot next to the spiral lock. Then take the new spiral lock and install it into the slot. You might have to push with a screwdriver to get everything to fit. Now reinstall the outer hub and tighten the allens. This will cause the hubs to have no play and will eliminate the rattle.
If it was a loose warn hub you can jump out and grab it and jiggle it by hand.... no pun intended. if you got grinding, jack the truck up and take a pry bar under each tire to check wheel bearings.
While the truck is just off the ground on the jack. Stick a long bar under the tire and gently lift up. Is there any movement??? If so you may have a bad bearing.
