Who has the highest HP 6.0 and what does it take to get there as far as parts and labor? No limit budget. Just curious, might be coming into some money and want to build my truck. So if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.ullover:
if everything goes right it will be around 150k. I am keeping my fingers crossed. so i'll buy mama a new truck hopefully a low mileage excursion and then sink some serious money into my truck. I plan on sending to be built I don't even want try to take on the task of doing it myself.
What would the build consist of? If anyone doesn't mind enlightening me.
If you think you're gonna spend the cash, build it then just drive it every day...think again. You're gonna break sh!t on a regular basis....plan on another 30 over the course of a couple of years to keep it running.
I'm not telling you not to do it...but it's a horrible way to spend a windfall. If you can't afford to do it now...take that money and invest it in your future...not something that's absolutly positively gonna break and cost you even more money.
No it wouldn't be a daily driver, maybe an every other day, lol... but really I don't think I would go as far as 1000 hp, I dunno we will see. I plan to set some of it back as far as investing it. We will see I change my mind quite often when it comes to actually dropping the money on anything, so I might change my mind when it comes that time.
you could have a real good truck for alot less than that. it wont be a record setter but if you put in 190s, a good small set of compounds you will have a very streetable truck. Not too long ago the canadians posted a video of one of their trucks on 40 inch tires, 200s and one of their compound setups and that thing moved, and im sure it would cost alot less and you will probably have alot less downtime.

Also put a good trans and torque converter behind it. Then you'll be able to drive it and enjoy it. Shoot for 600 rwhp and leave it that or you're going to be spending a whole lot of money and blowing motors.

Takes patience, and most of all, listening to the ones who've done it. There's a good amount that would go into one of these trucks to get it to the 1000hp mark and taking that direction is a choice, but it can be done.
Start with the motor, strong internals and correct fuel flow. Build the transmission up to the max. Find a good pairing turbo combination for compounds that will meet your needs. Injectors... oh injectors. You need a good set of those too.
It'll take a bit, but between Shawn, Doug, Eric for tuning and a few other very knowledgable people on here, we can steer you in the right direction and have you meet your goals if it's really what you want.
Just get ready to unload a lot of that money you may come in to, I'm not saying all, but the bills come in and all you may be able to do is
It's not a cheap sport by aaaaany means, but the rewards can be great!
i have to second craigs post, and that truck the way it was when it made that power was 100% streetable, barely any smoke untill almost full throttle and the turbo spooled almost like stock
UNBROKEN!!! I seen you at the track on Saturday. I was going to say hi but you looked pissed off and I dident want to bug you. What was up with the dragster that wouldent build boost?
I always look pissed off. LOL
The manifold charger was completly locked up....to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. We tore it down in the pits and you couldn't even spin it by hand....took a breaker bar to turn it at all....and HX82's aren't exactly easy to come by on short notice. Our day was done with that one before it even started.
So factor in the retail pricing for everything for the OP unlike Craig who I'm sure got some deals here and there and we're right back at that 30 G's originally mentioned.
IMO The trucks that are making the big #'s are not working trucks. No offense to those party's. Some uhhmmm... changed their strategy (5.9) and continued on to build daily workable/drivable trucks. If you want to stay with the 6.0 just build a smart and reliable 500-600hp and pay the $20 + pit fee and watch those guys duke it out. My $0.02
So to have a streetable truck I would be good between 500-700 hp. I don't want to spray though so is that possible? How much hp do I need to be in the low to mid 12s?
i forget who helped me who would this be ?????\
the only on that has helped me is eric and eric only and he knows i appreciate it and was there when i dynoed
and i think you forget sometimes who tunes your truck and makes it a powerful and fast as it is
I dont understand you shawn i was there at texas helped you fix your truck ran around got paerts for you and congragulated you on your record everytime but you cant once say congrads to me for the numbers all you do is give me crap
yes my truck didnt make it to the track cause the motor blew up 50 miles later but it made the power straight curve so it has the power and can keep it all the way through the range
but the new motor will hold the power
