Truck was broken into awhile back and they punched in my driver side lock. The door doesn't lock and I need to get it fixed. Anyone know about how much it'll cost?
I'm also going to get some rear door handles for both front doors so there is no keyhole. Then I'll just have to use my code or keypad.
Monday night I stayed at a hotel near Hobby airport in Houston. My coworkers truck was parked right next to mine. We went out in the morning and he noticed his dress clothes and his travel bag were missing. The theives took his hardhat and workboots out of his bag and left them in the truck. I guess they had a conscious. He had a fuel card on the console and tons of loose change they didn't even bother to touch. My truck was parked right next to his and had my gps and fishing stuff in it. I thought it was pretty strange they just wanted his clothes. Anyways, they just punched out the lock just like yours.
Luckily all they stole out of my truck was a crown royal bag with some change in it. Left my gym bag, oakleys, sct, gauges. Just a bag of change is gonna cost me hundreds to fix a door.
worst part is you don't even need to do any body damage to these trucks to break into them.
The handles are soo big and soo flimsy that if you grab the handle good enough with your left hand you can pry out the lower right corner far enough to get a screw driver in and then flip the lock linkage behind the handle.
Sucks it happened luckily they didn't tear up the whole truck too badly.
there is always the hope that you catch a guy on the spot when he is trying to steal your truck. Lets see what we can come up with what you can do to him.
I used to have a competition stereo car loaded with decals. Mine as well had a big sign saying come take my stuff. Any how, after the first time it was broken into I installed 4 morel tweeters hooked up to 2 500 plus watt amps. I used my dsp to turn them down when I was listening to music, but my Pioneer at the time had a link to the dei anti theft and let out the most intense squeel you have ever heard. Was also hooked up to my prox sensor, so it warned you if you got to close to the car (the sound with the doors closed was even intense). And because it was such a high pitch it carried way less distance than my alarm did causing less complaints from my neighbors . My key fob alerted me when it was going off. Worked like a charm. I even left my windows down a few times and had zero problems.
