NEW ORLEANS – BP says oil from its broken well has stopped gushing into the Gulf of Mexico for the first time since April.
The announcement Thursday came after company officials said all valves had been shut on a new cap over the busted well in an experiment to stop the spill.
Sad part is, if nobama would have told BP from the begining that they could keep the well, the oil would have been shut down a long time ago.
Anyone notice how this cap device is nothing but a big manifold that they can hook to and still get oil out of? Or how the relief well is days away from being complete and they magically make this cap? BP knows what they are doing.
Here is the thing. If they would have capped the well when this all first went down, thats it, that well is done, and they can never use it again. Now they have a way to use the well later on, since they are drilling 2 new wells.
My brother IL works on the rig that was trying to cap it. Even this cap on the well head will not stop the leak its also leaking below the seabed and there is nothing that can be done about that. And BO does play a part in it in the FACT that he wouldnt let the CG put the fire out and that caused the stands on the rig to give way under the heat and weight of the rig which in turn snapped the well spout causing the leak. And he didnt jump in on it till weeks later and then claimed "I've been on it since day one" Right . Any how if this had been on Bushes watch I'm sure AK Grady would have been blaming it on him.
Now that said at least its a step in the "right" (lol) direction and they can start a massive clean up.
trust me, once the well is cemented they will drill through it and start again. i think that well has proven its one helluva producer. if anything, they will drill into the same zone from another location
Who cares, the oil is stopped. For the time being, lets hope it holds until the relief wells get there. Good part is they can tap into it to relieve pressure onto tankers if they need to. Best news is they can build a few more of those to have on hand. If it ever happens again, they can fix it in days, not months.
