Well as the title thinking about a Garrett 42. So here is my question. What injectors should I go with with? Thinking either Large stage 2's 225-230's or 238 Hybrids. With the stage 2's will they atomize better than Hybrids or not? What about oil. What should I go with for that?
Have you checked for PMR's?
Unless you want more than 450HP get stage 2's, I'd get a modded H2e. 17* pump is all thats needed or their always modded 17* pumps or better yet a Stealth.
If he is going to go with that big of a charger I would assume he is shooting for over 500. Otherwise why not pay a few hundred less, not have to worry about the piping and go with a gt38r.
i think he has a terminator for oil so he should be alright there. umm if you got pmr i would go with 160/100's with a modded stock turbo with some awsome tunin from jonathan at beans. that'll get you 450 or so which is more than the pmr's will want. and it'll save you alot of work to mount a 42r
Depends on what injectors you go with. For smaller hybrids the 1.01 would spool quicker. With 238 or 250's the 1.15 would work well.
Are you going to fab up the mounting kit?
Well I see the popular choice is Hybrids but why not Stages 2's? I think the idea of better atomization with Stage 2's seems like less smoke haze at night which I hate.
it's all in the tunin. hybrids can be tuned down to be smoke free or turned up as hot as you want, stage II's can only be turned up so high because obviously they don't flow as much as the hybrid. it's all about the tunin
I believe there is a water crossover back by the turbo area on the firewall that will have to be removed on the Excursions to fit a 42? I will be doing this too with a journal bearing GTA4294 with 238's
500 to 550, stage 2's wont get you there. Better plan on 250/100's at least and a 42 would work great in that range. I'd go a little over size on the injectors and tune them down than try and sqeeze 550 out of 238's. Some may have been able to hit 550 on 238's but it's not easy.
Depending on how the injectors are built the oil side for 160cc singles and 238cc hybrids will be the same. Its the fuel side that is different. I have 160cc stage II's with 100% on them with beans tunes and I want to step up to Hybrids after having these for a while. Id go 238-250cc with 100% if you tow and go 200% if you dont. JMO
I thought you had 250/100's for some reason.
Also while we are throwing exhaust housing sizes around keep in mind there is also a difference between the 4202 and 4294.
