buddy at work just bought a 97 f350 xlt 7.3 reg cab long bed 180k. its CLEAN looked it over real good and cant find any rust and interior is very nice. he gave $5600..........so did he get hosed?????????
doesn't sound to bad, but it's regional dependant, some places that might be a little high, others its a good price. How you can really tell though is if he is happy with his purchase, QUIT LOOKING AT PRICES! and then there is no way he got hosed.
Not at all. I bought mine for 6k off the original owner and it came with a brand new tonneau cover still in the wrapper, a bunch of new replacement brake parts, and a full spare set of wheels and tires.
Seems like a good deal to me. I paid 1500 for mine but i got well over that into it in basic maintence parts, and another 1000 in body parts cuz its a rusty ol pig. can't beat an obs Ford.
^ my head hurts tryin to figure out what you just said
back to the original topic, it depends on where you are, some places that price may be high, others on par, and even in some places low. around here thats a smokin deal, especially if its in that good of shape. couple years back i picked up a 97 F350 RC/LB AT 4x4 PSD for $3500 that had a couple dings and dents in it and a decent gash in the pass door, so your buddy made out pretty good i'd say. tell him nice find :ford:
Strive to know what things are worth vs what they cost, great value is not always a dollar figure. Your friend has to judge what he values the truck's worth to be for himself, don't worry what other's think, many will be envious and sour grapes because they didn't buy it! :ford:
what you have is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, id say your buddy got a good deal, around here those trucks are rare ( the cattle farmers buy them and dont sell em.) I looked for a long time before finding one that was not rusted out, beat up and wore out.
I paid 5500 for mine and it had a smashed passenger side bed. Also had a reman ford trans which will not die after 40k miles of me driving it. Had a few other normal things wrong with it but got them fixed.
