besides the obvious trans,pedals,hydros..... what else is needed to complete the swap auto to manual??? I have herd that the rear cover is different and that may need to be swaped but I really dont know....
The rear cover and the wiring harness are different, but I'm not sure on the actual procedure to go about doing the swap. IIRC there was a thread about this a while back, I'll do some digging and see if I can find it.
lets read up one what all has to be changed, i got all the tools we will need to do it, i work in a john deere shop so that won't be a problem, lets do some research and go for it, what year is your pickup?
ok now everyone spill there guts, i need to knows the specifics on this swap, 04-04, both 4x4, im guna put a single mass flywheel in mine as im sure the one coming down will be a dual mass, how much of a pain, will my transfer case off my auto bolt onto the manual? are the transmissions the same length?
Lance has a lot of ideas, but for what his truck is being used for, I'd go with a 6sp. over an Automatic. A lot better control while pulling.
