Building rear traction bars and was thinking about 4link, but that is forbidden in SS. So what are yall running, Caltracs seem to work good, but I was wondering if a 3 link with coilover would be legal. What really determines a 4 link technically, is it the amount of links to the chassis or the axle.
Homemade traction bars, as long as possible. Make sure they are stout enough not to flex and bend. I have 2-1/2 inch dom 1/4 inch or 3/8 wall , with heims joint ends. Get some factory rear shock brackets (bolt on) from a f-250- 350 and drill the shock hole out to fit the bolt for the heims. Make some brackets for the frame, and make your tubes the length you need. Most will be right around 7 feet plus or minus. Depends on the wheelbase.
:whs: Or if you don't mind spending the money, like me, you can buy the brackets from a company. I got mine from Ballistic Fab. Great brackets, and heim joints. I ended up going with 1.5" solid steel bars, they weigh about 30lbs a piece, but I'm sure that they wont ever flex.
NHRDA is what I was most interested in. I don't think that there is a practical way to do it. I was just wondering if there were any out there.....
I think that I have some things I might try out and see what you guys think, but the motor comes first before I get to carried away with the drivetrain. No need to hook if I don't have any power.
