Im thinking of integrating a license plate box with led lights lighting it up and shaving the gate handle not at an angle just were the emblem reseeds, I already have a sir michals smooth roll pan (steel) coming this week that i have ordered for a month now. Im not sure on how its going to look/fit My truck is going into the shop sometime this month for a paint job (flat black). My truck is a 4x4 ex cab lb single wheel.I have 20inch mamba wheels sitting in the shop.My truck is leveled out. I also have a 8inch black mitre cut stack with a custom aluminum black bed cover I fabbed up. I will have the emblems shaved and completely gone. I have a reflexxion cowl and 5% tint. just to give ya a ideal of were im going with it completely murdered out. But I will have a dark cherry red pin stripe and the chrome on the wheels will be painted dark cherry red also. If i posted pics Its just a maroon ex cab truck most of the parts are set aside in boxes or on order. Im wanting it to be done and seen in one glance instead of piece by piece. so sorry guys if there is any suspense to this thread. I am also contemplating on shaving my door handles also. so here is my thoughts so let me see what ya guys think.
Well this is not necessarily a daily driver more a of a toy. yes, I didnt know your gate was shaved. looks great. If I were to shave my doors what are the pros/cons of them and what kit would be the best in your personal op? what brand roll pan do you have ?
Shaving the doors was just a pain. The solenoids never worked right, crap came loose....just a pain in general.
That's a Sir Michaels pan in that pic. I have a Street Scene now that's about to get replaced with a weld in one from Grant Kustomz with LED strips for lights then I'm shaving the tail lights....and a bunch of other stuff.
Now that you mention it i thought of shaving the tails and fitting in a 1/2inch x12inch long led strip with signals recessed and such.. along with my line of fire.Im a sucker for leds! but too much would be damaging to the looks. And something else I have looked into it is the hitch, Im wanting to slide it back and install sled stops. I pull and race the truck every once in a while. some more food for thought i guess?

yes similar, I would keep just the blue light, but slimmer and a little bit longer thanks I have been putting google to work here this whole week and have never found this.
I had never seen it done before, so I just started cuttin. You can learn a lot lookin at the older street rods, and the older guys that drive them with all the body work they did.
I ordered some more parts , got some led's that would be perfect for the taillights. what do you guys think about the recon led light for the back of the cab.cargo light?
I think it will be SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Satain black or flat i know you said flat? I like the Mamba wheels I have yet to see them on a SD. Good luck with the build.
130 bucks for fillers that isnt to awful bad. I have a set on order as we speak lol. Im still thinking of shaving the doors but im scared! I really cant wait till the finished product.
okay I just ordered a shaved door handle kit with 50lbs solenoids and all the fixens from auto lock, some of my mini truck guru's sent me there. I also bought some 12inch long ghost taillights with weld in buckets, and a 60inch light for the back of the cab. Have I gone too far ? LOL
The last shaved door kit I had was Auto-Lock. All it did was lock me outta my truck. LOL
Just my opinion...but I think you'll regret shaving the doors.
As badd a$$ as shaved door handles are, seriously think twice about it. I had AutoLoc's kit which is a top notch kit and I still had issues all the time. Just think about how often you hop in and out of your truck. Now think that every time you want in you have to hit a button. If you do go with them, make sure you at least run poppers and crimp the CRAP out of the cables that you hook from the solenoid to the latch. Those thend to come loose
I got rid of my auto-loc's and used a set from SPAL. much better IMO, but still a pain. make sure you put an emergency cable on one of the doors that you can get to if the batteries go dead, just a cable with a loop that's wired directly to the linkage that you can tuck up in the door gasket at the bottom.
Grant is the way to go for the filler panels. you may have to wait a little while, but their stuff is top notch. they did my tailgate skin, and the corners where the rear bumper fit into.
the sequence lights are cool. hate to say it, but Keep it Clean is a division of Auto-Loc. they've got a bunch of subsidiaries, all the same product. their relays are absolutely terrible.
If you want GOOD flush mount led tails...you want these: http://www.watsons-streetworks.com/leds_taillights.html
I'm using 2 pair of the L58RACL's on each side with a single L58SM for the 3rd brake light.
Can't decide whether to flush them in or use the billet surrounds...those look pretty nice too.
They're not cheap....but they last. I used them on my old Ranger project back in about 98-99 or so....that truck is still around and still running the lights I originally put in it.
