as the title states im wondering what would be better gauges(egt, boost, pyro, trans) or a livewire and then i get the gauges and tunner in one. and what other upgrades should i do before going internals? :ford:
I went with an Edge Insight over the Livewire, didn't care for the way the Insight looked, and don't want a gauge pod (or pods) all over the truck. I monitor EOT, ECT, Trans temp, and EGT when I'm pulling, and other stuff when I'm not. But I always keep EOT and EGT up there no matter what.
I also went with in Edge Insight, you can find killer deals on used ones now that the new Insight's are coming out. I got mine for $210 shipped with the EGT Probe and a Pillar Pod painted to match my interior
I would opt for gauges over an integrated unit. Reason... When one component fails or falters, it is much easier to exchange a single item than the entire unit.
I'm running Fuel Pressure, EGT, and Boost.
As far as other mods. For reliability, HEAD STUDS. Make sure that the heads have been milled flat before reinstalling. The other mods come with the power demands. I suggest Brown Bros. Ford Fleet Service in Vancouver, but I'm sure BD Power in Rabbitsturd or PDR in Port Kells can do the work too.
i was figuring on going with the gauges just thought maybe the sct or insight
would be a good idea
im going to get boost egt and fuel pressure and head studs will have to wait till i sell my car. Also i was thinkin when i do studs i might do fire rings as well
just for added protection :ford:
