just bought a house got my obama money $8000 tax credit the 6.0 has been good to me for 180k believe it or not its never been in the shop but i know its day will come so arps and a egr delete will for sure be going in and im starting to have some injector issues sometimes it skips when u give it just enough throttle to downshift so im trying to decide on injectors but i open to any info or things i might want to do while the cabs off to try to keep my 6.0 doing as good as she has been for a long time what r some combos i can do to it to make it relible as possible:ford::ford:
going bigger in injectors, or even with stock injectors, I would think an Air Dog 2 or at least some sort of regulated return or fuel system upgrade would be a good thought. With the cab off it will be much easier to get to the back of the heads too.
where do you reside? Just watch the smog issues, which I have to deal with in California.
Sounds like you are level headed and are putting studs in and the delete before anything else. If you decide to put in bigger injectors, it woud be smart to upgrade the fuel delivery system. With 180k miles, it wouldnt hurt to throw a new TC in the torqshift... just a thought
thanks yeah my trans has always shifted good but the shifts dont seem as strong or as fast as they used to be it could just be me used to it but not a bad idea and i live in eads tn which is outside of memphis
Injectors are gonna be pricey, here my thing. Price out everything you wanna do and see the total cost for everything part wise. Cause after that your looking at labor cost to do the work as well. Believe me alot of this adds up, also you gotta count in as well if they find anything wrong inside your motor as well just gotta be prepared for everything before you go spending all your money. Start with the basic and make a list.
thanks for your input yeah ive been shoping around on injector prices rcd seems to have the best prices ive found and i have been kinda making a list a looks like its not gunna be much performance i just want this thing to last its done good at staying away from the shop and i want to keep it that way

I know a superchip isnt much, but my best friend has a dmax with a SC, and he cant break 15 sec on the quarter. just throwing that one in there. not trying to start crap...
depends on what tunes the duramaxs r running one with a superchips innovative tunes will blow him off the road a well tuned dmax with efi live your gunna prob get beat but you can beat the the majority of dmaxs on the street around here at least apparently alot of the guys just have bullshat tunes and hacksawed exuast
i know the headstuds r the weak link thats why the first thing i said was headstuds and egr the only reason u posteed that was just to piss me off and it worked and im not capiable of putting videos on here or i would i cant even watch the videos on here with the ancient pos work computer and u did say a tune dmax could run 11s but the trans woundnt like it well im still saying bs why dont u post some videos of that big balls until then just leave me the f### alone
Most of the guys around here in bakersfield california are just running canned tunes. Actually, I dont know anybpdy who is running a custom tune. Thats not to say that nobody is, but its a rare thing to see somebody arouns here running a custom tune. Most guys in my area think that they are too cool to do research and be on the forums. Ive learned a lot in these forums, and have saved myself a lot of money.
Its all good, when the time comes, I will have the fastest and most reliable 6-oh in bakersfield. LOL... common innovative....
that would never ever be an option ya see i bleed blue :ford: by the time i spent the money destroking my 250 i could have just spent that amout of cash making my 6.0 a good truck if i was to do any swap it would be a 6.4 in the 250 the 6.0 in the lighting 351w in mud truck
