Looking at some 16x8 wheels with a 2mm offset. Wondering how this will place the tire compared to stock. The stock wheels are 7in wide i believe. Will it bring the tire in or outward? How much further out would the outside of the tires stick out? Thanks!
it wouldnt be much diffrent..if you want the tire sticking out then you want negative offset...my 18x12s in my profile pic are -61 offset...most like -20 to -30mm offset
Offsets are more for frontwheel drive vehicles. RWD or 4WD trucks use Backspace more commonly. That said, the 2mm offset is just a hair off being center, so a 8" rim width with zero offset = 4" back space. The stock 7" rim (and most aftermarket) for SRW F-250/350 have 4.5" Backspacing. This means there is 2.5" rim outboard of the mounting surface of the rim. The 8" with 4" BS has 4" of rim outboard of the mounting surface, or 1.5" beyond what you have now.
Ok great! that cleared it up just perfect. Thanks a bunch for the help!
