Not the best actually. It just got warm and sunny at the end of this week. Finally able to get some beans in the ground yesterday and today and we're starting corn tomorrow. Where is your cabin at?
Can't say many ppl are that lucky around here! Actually unfortunate would be more like it we had a frost last sunday morning. Are you not a john deere guy? I'm all for the international engines in ford trucks obviously but when it comes to the tractors I run Nothin Run's Like A Deere! LOL
And cowboy dan I'm with ya on the new stuff they ain't worth a bag of hammers in my book. Mostly I don't like them cuz ya can't work on them yourself if ya need to, too many electronics for me. John Deere never did have very obvious electronics either. The monitor that came with that 7200 Conservation in the picture took me a day to figure out. there's something new wrong with the electric over hydraulic every spring too.
haha yea i love older machines but we really need new machines cuz we got 3500 acres the new technology in these things are nice but sometimes like when it doesnt work its a real pain lol and Case IH all the way!! Been baling hay here for 2 weeks now they are calling for rain.
Damn are you really just starting to plant corn? We have corn around here already head high! We are getting ready to start putting out Nitrogen on our cotton next week... or do you have some early/late variety?
Na man I posted that in like mid may lol I got it done in a day and a half about 150 acres I ran into more hydraulic problems of course! I wanna say it's 90 day seed but I can't remember for sure.
Real nice tractors. You guys a fan of the dual wheels? We gota 4320 with duals on it. Leaves no tracks. i just planted 100 acres on beans and they are duds! same with the farm next store, go southern states :lame:
Love the dual wheels for that set up. We have the duals for our 43 but the 4960 is the only one we actually put them on well besides the 730 but that's more for looks haha. We planted ASGROW beans this year they're supposed to be a bit better than growmarcs beans but we'll see they're about 2 inches up right now.
Our corn is about 6'' high. Just got done with first cut of hay last weekend. We chopped about 250-300 acres of haylage. I still got about 30acres of beans to get in, but the rain is kinda slowing me up right now.
Davey
yeah the rain is like every other day here so we can't get any alfalfa down long enough to bale with its getting frustrating! we have about 300 acres to get in and it just isn't happening it's starting to flower which is never a good thing lol.
wint
I'm an international man all the way cuz of our trucks but man I'm split on the farming aspect of it. Both have good and bad but i'd say i lean a little more towards jd obviously :hehe:

The 1 nice thing about the rain though is it gives me some time to get caught up on some shop work. Had to do a clutch today in our 1486. PIA! I hate splitting tractors, but its nice to have that 1 back up and running again
What do ya'll usually do with it? Haylage, round bales, big/small squares? It's a pain for me sometimes cuz we do all three so we're constantly unhooking and hooking up different balers!
For us, first cut all gets chopped for haylage. 2nd and 3rd is a toss up between haylage and big sqaure bails. We stopped doing the small square bails back when i was in H.S and i dont miss it at all.
