I got 10.99 pulling my enclosed trailer(28ft) and race truck(6600lbs). On the way back from Red Deer the milage got even better, going by what the truck says. My truck has just over 1400km's, is a cc/lb 4x4 dually with 285/75/17 A/T's. I haven't driven empty enough yet to calculate that. I'm very happy with the milage so far.
I got 15 mpg all highway 70-75 mph yesterday. I put bigger tires (35x12.50x20) and wheels on which I feel will somewhat reduces gas mileage plus here in the midwest our highways have slight grades 1-3% that are several miles long.
It's kind of funny but sad at the same time that some guys were talking about getting 20mpg++ on a regular basis based on the lie-o-meters in a few test trucks.
Anyways, the real world mpg numbers are reasonable for a truck this capable.
I get 16 mpg most tanks w/ varied driving w/ 550hpish unrestricted 7.3 on 35s.
The laws of physics aren't easy to change so I'd expect about the same out of an unrestricted 6.7 driven in the same manner.
If you want to get better mpg buy a lighter, more aero truck, w/ small little wheels like a GM.
I am averaging high 14- low 15 mpg with 3.55 gears. mixed city and highway miles unloaded. Every fill up, the lie-o-meter is off by 1 gallon of usage and 1 mpg. I fill my truck up the same every fill-up. How can the computer lose 1 gallon of fuel and not account for it? My lift goes on this week with 37's and I predict that my lifted 6.0 with the same size tires will out shine in mpg. Not too happy with the 6.7's mpg but everything else is all smiles.
Towing #6800 in a 7x16 tandem axle trailer. Ceiling is 6.5'. Low: 10.5mpg @ 75-80mph w/ headwind. High: 13.2mpg @ 65-70mph no headwind. Lie-o-meter is consistantly .1-.2 mpg higher than hand. No complaints yet. I will be adding airbags and a sway bar to the rear. These longer springs seam to squat easier while providing a better ride. Tow/Haul downshifting is very aggressive.
We are currenlty in Chamberlain, SD. Off to Mt. Rushmore today and then heading over the big hills Thursday and Friday.
Hand calculated loaded with a 38' gooseneck and a 1950 Pepsi Cola delivery truck 11-13 MPG. That hotrod is all solid steel my best guess for total weight on the truck with trailer and hotrod ~15,000lbs
after my new AFE intake installed, I filled up to the brim, had 4 regens and filled up today, hand calculated mileage was 17.4mpg which is up about 1mpg from what I was typically getting before the intake. This was about a 50/50 split with highway and city driving. With a road trip, I think it would be even better.
I am getting hand calculated mileage, with the AFE Intake, 35x12.5x20 tires, right around the 17.6 mpg and that is with city driving and highway. Thought the slightly bigger tires would make a bit of a difference but I maybe lost .5 if that.
But the tires are only 1" bigger than stock only a little heavier
13.25 mpg (hand-calculated city and highway with 10K trailer)
