Hey guys...I'm planning on running my exhaust out the side through the body kind of like the pic below. does anyone know where I can find a cut out flange kind of like the one shown? I've googled the hell out of it but can't find one anywhere.
where do you plan on it exiting?
if its near the front the whole side of the truck is going to be covered with soot.
i wouldnt do it to my truck but it would definatley stand out
also, it would also be one big @ss hole in the side of your truck
Looks like it would be realy easy to fab up...do you have any welding skills? That would be pretty slick,if you were alittle closer i could help you out.
the piping part would be relatively to fab but i know there are pre fab'd kits out there. i see them on the sides of boats all the time. i did find this part which might work out but they want nearly $400!!!
my exhaust exits in front of the rear tire now and as far as smoke on the side goes...i'm not too worried about it. I wash my truck once a week at the very least and I'm not running smokey tunes at all. either way...i think a little soot would be worth having a set up like this!
Get some 16 gauge sheet metal and roll it by hand to fit the curve of the truck.
Cut whatever size pipe you want to the angle you want it to exit.
Trace pipe onto inside of plate.
Cut out hole.
Insert pipe and weld around inside.
Trim off excess that's sticking out.
Weld around that cut and finish the weld smooth with a flapper disc on a 4" grinder.
Paint or chrome it when it's done.
Cut big ass hole in side of truck and mount the plate.
When you mount the exhaust to the piece you made use flex tubing so it can all move with the truck.
I'd bet you can knock it out for 50 bucks plus whatever finish you want on it.
i wouldn't run the exhaust thru the side of the body. i would keep what you got or even run it all the way back or up through a stack before i ran it through the body. Just my .02
meh...no change for me yet. I got too busy with traction bars, injectors, etc so I never got around to it. I'm thinking of doing some custom work on a set of duals but I'm still running the same thing as in the pic on page 2.
I think the first one you posted up would be sick. Its different, i have never seen one on a diesel before and it would look really clean. The second one is ugly i would keep what you have before doing that one.
