Re: Part Number for Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor/Tube?

Here's what I've got... I think the tube routing changed for the '97 model year though. On my '96 (and prior years) the tube runs from the exhaust manifold, behind the alternator bracket, and up behind the high pressure oil reservoir. I know on the Super Duties, and I think the '97s, the tube runs from the exhaust manifold up the front of the engine and in front of the high pressure oil reservoir. I think the part number below is for the earlier style. I myself am looking to change my truck to the later style.

9J432 BRACKET (TRANDUCER MOUNTING)
MODEL/RESTRICTIONS | ENG. CYL. | PART NO. | DESCRIPTION | QTY.
F250, F350, F(Super Duty)- -DI Turbo | 8 Cyl. 7.3 | F4TZ 9J432-B | Bracket assy-Exhaust Back Pressure(EBP) & engine cover front | 1

9J460 SENSOR ASY. (EGR PRESSURE VALVE)
MODEL/RESTRICTIONS | ENG. CYL. | PART NO. | DESCRIPTION | QTY.
F250, F350, F(Super Duty)- -DI Turbo | 8 Cyl. 7.3 | F7TZ 9J460-AA | Transducer-exhaust back pressure. Includes seal 1807264-C1. Mounts to 9J432. | 1

9D477 TUBE (EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATING VALVE TO EXHAUST MANIFOLD)
MODEL/RESTRICTIONS | ENG. CYL. | PART NO. | DESCRIPTION | QTY.
F250, F350, F(Super Duty)- -DI Turbo | 8 Cyl. 7.3 | F4TZ 9D477-A | Tube-Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor. Uses 9F485 1/4"-18 connector. | 1

Cheers from Claremore, OK!
Dave

Re: Part Number for Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor/Tube?

If its plugged have you tried to un-plug it. Mine was plugged so I took the sensor off the top, sprayed a bit of WD40 in to soften the soot, and started to poke throught the soot with some mechanics wire. I ended up working it around the bends and about 2" down and broke through. I did this with the truck running so the exhaust would push the soot out when I broke through. It worked great.

I cleaned my tube and replaced the sensor a couple weeks ago and my tube runs behind the alternator bracket on my 97.

Re: Part Number for Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor/Tube?

If you need a replacement, Rockauto has a listing for them, drill down in their catalog to your YM - it's called an EGR tube. Around 20 bucks.

Re: Part Number for Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor/Tube?

If your truck was made from March of 97 to the end of 97,the ford part #is F7TZ-90477-AA.
Hope that helps.

Re: Part Number for Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor/Tube?

I'm going to bring this thread back from the dead. I'm looking to switch my tube and sensor from behind the HPOP res to in front like my old 97 that had it in front of the HPOP access cover. Did any of you guys ever do this? Does the plug in the harness reach??
