Here are a couple video's of PSD Trav's build. This shows his headgaskets, Heads, Valves, Pistons, ect. The HPFP and rails went to Elite yesterday and the heads to the machine shop today. You can see where the HG's were blown in the video's. It will be getting HG's, studs, egr delete with wastegate, HPFP, Airdog 165, Ported Rails, 310 with TCM, 4" downpipe, and a few other little things that we will post when it is back together.
BTW, did you ever change the oil in this thing Travis?? LOL
Nice build, Aaron. About the exact same stuff I want to do to my truck in the next couple months for my first round of upgrades, it'd be nice if I was closer to you guys so you could do the work.
Just a lot a bit. Pushrods were sticking to the rockers and the bridges for the rockers were sticking too. Everything looked fine though. Were you changing every 5,000 miles or going more than that?

Not good news. Turns out that both heads are cracked pretty bad. They are cracked on just about every exhaust valve which leads to the conclusion that the exhaust got super heated.
These would be the fourth set. All of the other ones showed no signs of cracking. I would have expected to see it on my crew cab since the gaskets were blown for about a year and overheated it twice, and I drive it like its stolen.
We found heads in a junk yard from a rollover with 6,000 miles on it for $350 a piece. Not too bad IMO.
the 6.4 heads are almost identical to the 6.0 heads, and the 6.0's are known to crack heads like its going out of style. These failures don't really surprise me, however, I wish they did.
I would suggest oil changes at 5k or under, just because some of these trucks are know to make a bit of their own oil. Plus if its tuned, you would be smarter to do it at 5k or sooner, maybe even consider adding an oil bypass.
that doesn't see too bad, not enough to be cracking heads and seats IMHO, unless it was run at those temps for a few miles alot of different times, to see a heat cycle like that, to be constant though you would be haulin ARSSE for a while.
I also saw in a thread somewhere that Spartan has CP testing equiptment, if so has anyone ever saw a graph of any of the 6.4 tunes he has out?
Or has anyone scoped a stock or tuned 6.4 yet?
