Well it was a long busy summer and fall... didn't quite meat our goals for the truck but ohh well. No since in rushing things. The engine is done getting ready to put her in after the holidays. Had some rule changes over here so not quite sure which way we are gonna go with a driveline yet. We at least we know our pump runs good! The pump "STROKED OUT" was running at Scheids on
Friday night's second place win was ours. So at least someone got benefit out of it. Looking forward to next year and giving the Powerstoke world hopefully another Stroker that will run like HELL! Hope you all have a good holiday!:ford:
Well thought I would give an update. Should have her ready to hook by our June 12 hook in Springfield IL. If not then we will be ready for Cambridge on June 25. This has been one hell of a project, and we have had help from people who have already done it too! The outcome should be rewarding! Just hope everything works ok! There will be gremlins Im sure, but I hope just not alot. Sorry guys I havent kept an update, but I just dont get on the computer too much. Gonna try and post a few pics here soon. Anyway our pump and injectors are finally done! Turbo is done, rocker arms are on the heads. We did make lexan valve covers too like Zimmer did, they look nice, but mainly because of the injection line connection under the valve cover. Wanna b able to see a leak, before its to late! I am just waiting now on a real nice set of log headers and up-pipes being made and coated, and we will be real close to "Fire in the Hole!" Can't wait! We sandblasted the whole frame, welded in ladder bars, a drawbar hitch, and the Dana 80 is welded in solid. With the money we got in it, we are not painting it, this year. Might not ever change the paint either! Keep her red, in sink with International colors, and in honor of "The Ol HotRodTractor" who provided us with the chassis! For "The Rebirth of The Red Regular Cab!"
thank you! Dave at Wipe Out has done a nice job on it. This was a new timing cover design he came out with so you can run a mechanincal pump off the injection pump gear.
Oh I'm sure you can. Fantasy has a 3.0 open driveline, 3.0 twins 1-ton driveline, I think ECI is still 3.2 twins unlimited single 1-ton driveline. Then theres always Heartland, basically organized brush pulling...lol
not sure if many of the members here know, but a build like this is basically one of a kind. other than ben, billy, (and carson..waiting...) and some douche that showed up to TS, there just isnt anything like this done. i have talked to Roy from the beginning of this project, and these guys have spared no expense on detail and perfection. this truck is going to be PSN sponsored, so i would hope all of our members can get behind a quality p-pump build that should further our push into competitive sled pulling*. best of luck to you Roy, anything we can do to help, let us know.
p.s. jason is gay.
*footnote to members who dont know much about sledpulling, the powerstroke, other than few and far between, is not competitive in the major pulling circuits of the midwest.
Thanks Mike! I trully hope this is gonna Be an attention getter out here, in Cummins land! Nothing against them at all! But we chose to do it the hard way! (and GD expensive!) Thank you so much for your support! WE HOPE TO FLY THE PSN BANNER PROUD! Thanks again!
The p-pumped 7.3 that showed up to TS was tan/gold or some similar color. Apparently the machine shop that did the work was an Ohio shop. Looked like the owner still had work to do.
I know the front cover for stroked out was made by a shop that does tractor pulling stuff. They were out of sydney ohio. Im pretty sure that was there only part in it though. its all in the diesel power article.
We are using injectors out of a 2388 Case IH combine. 8.3 cummins. Wipe Out is working on using Komatsu injectors. He didnt have them ready when we bought our stuff.
