Just got done putting some 24's on my buddy travis's F-450 looks pretty good, not sure how i feel about the rear center caps yet but this thing looks tough, just phone pictures right now, left the camera at the shop, we will take some more tomorrow.
Debating on lowering it, looks pretty good now, would look better with the tires completly tucked but its a good lood as it sits very wide stance.
hows it look from the back, I dont like how far they normally stick out past the fender.. from the 1st pic it looks to be a solid 5" sticking out past the fender
I like the looks of it, but what does he plan to do with it? Normally a 450 is bought to tow heavy...
His 6.0 was lifted, wanted to go a different route this time, I like it honestly it looks tough, You can get wheel adapters that dont make the tires stick out, but its the look that he was going for and i think it looks good.
yea..that's what I figured..If I had a 450, I would have went with the DBO 24's to help alleviate that.
If he is only pulling 10k why get a 450? I know its not my money or my business, just wondering, that's all..seems like overkill for truck, but a bad idea if he wanted to tow what it was rated at with 24's, I know those tires aren't capable of handling what the truck is able to tow..
But he showed up with the truck, we kinda told him that a F-350 would have been plenty, He is a welder so it will be used as a welding rig eventually.
Yes the tires are not rated for what the truck is, they are barely rated for what the front end weighs on its own...
Adam, he only spent 3000k on the whole set up wheels tires, and adapters, MUCH better than the 9k price tag that comes with the wheels with the smaller 10 bolt pattern, Differnt strokes for different folks, The trailer he tows with his elcummino actually belongs to me, that will tell you how often he tows with it.
You think the rear one is bad... you should see the front flying saucer that they sent for the front... Terrible!!!
I think that a white center cap might look good, or just something more simple that doesnt stick out so far, Not really sure though.
I will say this much putting wheel adapters on a 450 is not nearly as desirable as a f-350 for a couple reasons
1. you have to remove the wheel studs from the factory hubs and press them in the adapters backwards which creates problem #2
2. You cant tightnen the wheel adapters to the hub with anything but a wrench:doh: what a pain the arse, now it will not be easy to make wheel changes if needed.
3. with a f-350 you can use the stock rear center cap to cover up the wheel adapter and lug nuts, on a 450 you cant do this. leaving you stuck with truck stop hub covers
thanks for posting dz yea i got the 450 because the 350 was not at all what i was looking for in my welding rig and i liked how the 450s looked more than a 350......yea they were a deal for shure i wanted to do 24s for a long time to have a nice looking deacentley fast truck that runs everyday..... the tires are horrable i know :lame:
Looks good! It will look a lot better without the chrome.
Somebody makes rear flares for the duallys but I forgot who makes them. Bill @Dfuser has a set on his truck. Covers the tire back up and doesnt look to bad.
The truck is actually going to look similar to yours when its done, just a dually. Not sure what to do about center caps and lug nut covers, I do gotta say though the chrome lug nut covers look really good at night when your rolling down the street.
IMO I'd keep the chrome lug nut covers, and try some DARK red pinstripe around the outer lip of the wheels. You could go black on the center caps but I don't think they look bad chrome. Whats it look like minus the caps?
The front doesnt have caps on it at all and it doesnt look bad, I liked the way the rear of it looked without the caps... the hubs and wheel spacers needed to be touched up with some gloss black paint but i thought it looked good, Im a bit biased to everythinb being black thou, I was wonder what white covers would look like???
I'm having trouble picturing the white caps, I'm thinking no cap and touch up the black. You can do both. Touch up the black see how it looks. Spray one of the caps(with no prep) white see how it looks, if it looks bad hit it with aircraft stripper and its chrome again.
looks tough!! not really my business, but how the hell did he only pay 3k for that!? i thought for sure that set up would beat least 7k or more. I'm ordering wheels and tires right after christmas and I'm needing a hook up like that!
Right place at the right time i guess, He didnt really want to buy them right now, but it was too good to pass up. some people just get lucky i guess LOL
mike found them for me on the cummins forum i love him he is so nice he took a break from playing world of warcraft to find them for me he has some sweet hook up for being a nightelf mohock
That looks ####in Sick..... I like it...I like it alot:evil
