I am running an IKON Vehicle Dynamics 3" kit. It consisted of a 3" front hangar and shackles for the front leafs and a 4" block for the rear. Since i retain the stock front springs I did not change the spring rate and the ride quality is actually better. I also added 4 new IKON shocks which are made by Bilstein and a new adjustable track bar.
100,000 miles original shocks were totally shot so that is why I went the route I just mentioned. Truck sits level and the ride is good.
There is no negative effect if installed correctly with the proper additional items needed.
Only use a shackle kit if it has both the front hanger and the rear shackle.
Remember you should get a adj track bar or correct drop bracket as every 2" of lift will shift the axle 1/2-3/4"
FYI Bilsteins haven't made Icon shock's for many years.
Well dam I stand corrected!....need to call Jeremy, guess thats why I always sell Bilsteins not the Icon shocks when I sell a Icon lift kit...better priced!
